Snippets for August 1

First & Foremost...

Happy 29th Birthday to our son, Rob

In an earlier post I promised to show pictures of the finished and installed bar that Bob and I designed and made for Rob's B'day...here they are.
Reassembling the bar in the "dining room" of Rob's apartment. There are plenty of cubby holes for all important bar stuff--mini-fridge in place.
Sturdy-ing and squaring it up with a board

Adding the front and side facades.
Formica top on and all finished with art rearranged while waiting for the flat screen to go in some day soon.

Testing out the Birthday Bar with a Buddie!

 ...On Another Note:

Frame Masters, Ltd. (the shop that my hubby and I started when we were oh so young) is starting its 37th year in business today! Congratulations to Bob and me, and a heartfelt thank you to all of our  customers over the past many years! We are forever humbled by your support.

(Yes, the start of our business and our son's birthday is the same day but several years apart.
Kind of weird, huh?)

...And finally, I'll be doing a Coffee Talk this Saturday Morning

I'll be giving a very short Coffee Talk (15-20 minutes) at the Tall Grass Arts Association Gallery this Saturday, August 3, at 11:00 am.  The talk will be about how/why I started using my left hand to produce my artwork and how that lead to publishing my first book.

Coffee Talk is presented the morning after a Gallery art opening. This Friday night's show features one piece each by Tall Grass Gallery artists...here's a peek at my entry.

Late Winter Forest Lane - Pastel Painting - 21x27" framed

As always, thanks for taking the time to look at my Blog!

  1. Happy Birthday to your son Karen, and Happy Anniversary to the start of your framing business too! I love your painting "Late Winter Forest Lane", it looks just like our lane in Door County where our cottage is! I couldn't believe it when I saw your pastel! Beautiful!

  2. Thanks Moe--that piece was from a photo I took up in Michigan at quilt camp! Alice and I had gone for a walk and the lighting and shadows were perfect! The next thing you know I'm in my studio working on this image!
